Volunteer Positions

Teachers
Education is a right which unfortunately many children in rural communities in developing countries are not enjoying. It is our goal to use volunteers to support the work at all levels of education.
We do place volunteers in schools in our communities when schools are in session. However, we do have vacation classes programs so our volunteers who come in during vacation times can also teach and do other community support work of their interest.

We have specially designed a girl child education program which seeks to promote and encourage the retention of girls at all levels of the education ladder.

Doctors/ Nurses /Public Health Personnel s
Professional doctors and nurses will be assigned jobs according to their specialized skills under the supervision of the senior nurse or doctor of the clinic or the hospital.
Non professionals who still want to work at a hospital or a clinic will render support services to the professionals in the various sectors of the hospital or clinic. The volunteer will be supporting in the consulting rooms, pharmacy, laboratory, maternity and records.
Volunteers can be made to experience the health condition in the cities and towns as well as those in the rural communities to get a holistic experience of the health situation in Ghana.
We have placement for public health programmes in HIV and AIDS , Tuberculosis, Malaria, Sanitation etc.

Micro finance /alternative livelihood

  • We have positions for volunteers who are interested in studying the micro finance system in Ghana and how it has affected the standard of living of the people especially women.
  • We also have a training program designed to help women acquire skills besides the farming activities. Acquiring this skill will help them earn extra income to support their family to improve their standard of living.
Water/ Sanitation

This program involves the Construction of Public Urinal and Toilets in the communities especially in the market areas. This is to reduce the incidence of people easing themselves and urinating anywhere around the market and in the bushes. This is a huge potential of health hazard which is of great concern to PHI.
Many communities in our operational areas are still drinking from wells and pounds.
